James Cropper shuffles its pack

LAKE-District paper and advanced materials manufacturer James Cropper has promoted Martin Thompson as managing director of its Technicak Fibre Products division.

Mr Thompson, who will also join the AIM company’s board, has been with the business for a decade and currently runs another division, James Cropper Converting.  He assumes his new role on June 10 and will take over from George Quayle who is retiring.

Mr Quayle joined the company in 1992, becoming Managing Director of TFP in 1996 and joined the board in 1998.

James Cropper chief executive Phil Wild said: “I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank George Quayle for his enormous contribution over the years.  As managing director of TFP he has overseen the growth of a successful advanced materials business that now boasts manufacturing facilities on both sides of the Atlantic.

“I look forward to welcoming Martin Thompson to the board of the company and as managing director of TFP.  He brings a proven track record for delivering growth, and has a strong commercial, operational and technical background together with a good appreciation of the company’s culture.”
