Stockport flats sold in £3.1m deal

ADMINISTRATORS handling Millshomes have sold 41 flats at Victoria Mill in Stockport and the freehold of the property in a £3.1m deal.

The buyer a London-based charity that promotes orthodox Judaism.

Begbies Traynor partner Paul Stanley was appointed administrator to Millshomes by lender Yorkshire Bank in 2011. It was developing Houldsworth Village – a four-phase, £60m project which involved the redevelopment of Victoria Mill, Elisabeth Mill and Eleanor Mill.

The following year administrators sold the unfinished Elisabeth and Eleanor mills to Alderley Edge-based De Trafford Estates, owned by Gary Jackson.

Victoria Mill had been completed and 139 of the 180 properties were sold, but Begbies let the remaining flats rather try and sell them quickly in a stagnant property market.

Millshomes was owned by Richard and Julie Sym.
