Appointments: Retail director for Booths; HSBC; Addleshaws & more

LANCASHIRE supermarket group Booths has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Paul Minett as retail director.
Mr Minett has worked for ASDA, Sainsbury’s and was most-recently witth Best Buy UK, the electronics chain which closed last year.
In his new role with Preston-based Booths Mr Minett will take responsibility for the day to day running of Booths 29 stores across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire & Cumbria.
Chief operating officer Chris Dee said: “We’re pleased to welcome Paul to Booths and we are confident that he has the skills, experience, dedication and drive to take improve and refine our store offering and take the business to another level.”

BARCLAYS Wealth and Investment Management has appointed of Scott Farnetti as a fund manager in the Manchester office.
Previously an assistant director at Brewin Dolphin in Newcastle, where he was responsible for the management of charity and pension funds as well as private client assets, Mr Farnetti joins a team of 40 in Manchester.

MARK Haywood, a partner at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester, has been appointed as managing partner of its real estate division.
Mr Haywood replaces Adrian Collins who has stepping down from the role and will concentrate full time on client work.
He said: “I’m excited to be leading such a great team with a terrific reputation. Our profile in the market has never been stronger and the enthusiasm we bring to our client relationships combined with our sector perspectives give me real confidence that we can win more market share.”

HSBC has boosted strengthened its North West corporate banking team with three internal appointments. Sion Woodrow, Greg Caiger and Shibaji Dasgupta have taken on relationship management roles with a major emphasis on new business development.
Mr Woodward has been with HSBC for five years and was most recently a senior business development manager within the Asset Based Lending arm of the bank. Greg Caiger has worked at the bank for nine years and moves from London where he helped to support a portfolio of UK-based subsidiaries of global businesses.
Mr Dasgupta began his career with HSBC in 2006. He was voted Young Banker of the Year in February at the inaugural pro.manchester Made in Manchester awards.
