Peel buys Salford Quays office block

THE Peel Group has bought a 58,000 sq ft office building at Salford Quays.

The Manchester-based developer said it had acquired the five-storey Alexandra block from Quinn-Direct UK Properties for an undisclosed sum.

Quinn-Direct is a Manchester-based division of the Irish group Quinn Insurance.

The Alexandra is a short distance from MediaCityUK’s Pie Factory studios, opposite the Harbour City Metrolink stop. It has one vacant floor of 11,500 sq ft.

“The Alexandra now forms part of Peel’s two million sq ft MediaCityUK portfolio.”

Craig Barton, investment director at DTZ advised Quinn and CBRE’s Colin Thomasson provided acquisition advice to Peel.
