Supply UK plots rapid growth

STOCKPORT-based tool and equipment firm Supply UK Hire Shops is forecasting a 25% increase in turnover to £14m this year after diversifying its services.
The business has branched out from tool hire and now has three divisions – water services, asset management for major water companies, and construction site asset management for large companies.
It employs 140 staff and operates across a network of 25 locations which includes 20 shops and on-site depots for major contracts.
The company’s expansion has been supported by a finance package from NatWest, the value of which was not disclosed.
Finance director Chris Haycocks said: “As with so many businesses, the onset of the recession was a key point in our history. A period of constant growth came to an almost instant halt; changing the mix of our activity was crucial for future success.”
