MediaMix: Rule 5; Video News Agency; Mason Media, and more

PR firm Rule 5 has moved to new premises and taken on an extra staff member.

The business, set up by former Staniforth executives Rob Brown and Julie Wilson in November, has moved from the Greenhouse at MediaCityUK to The Landing at the complex’s Blue Tower.

Lucy Murgatroyd has also been appointed as an account exeuctive from MC2.

Julie Wilson, said: “It was in our plans to move offices at the end of this year, however just six months into the business we found we had outgrown our launch premises.

“The Landing is the perfect location for Rule 5, ensuring we’re still at the heart of MediaCityUK. We’re thoroughly looking forward to Lucy joining the team and entering the next phase of Rule 5’s development.”

SKV Communications’ Video News Agency has produced an online ad for Kellogg’s that spoofs an earlier Aldi campaign.

Last year Didsbury-based McCann Manchester took a swipe at Kellogg’s woman in red-themed ads to promote an own-brand rival to Special K.

Kellogg’s said it had commissioned the ad as a riposte to own-brand copies.

Louise Thompson Davies from Kellogg’s said: “The Aldi low fat cereal ad epitomizes the whole concept of copycat own brand versions of branded products – in a very clever way.

“They say imitation is the highest form of flattery and our internet spoof is a light hearted way to bring our new recipe to life and highlight the point of difference against these products and show Special K has a sense of humour.”
