NW firm takes top spot in Great Places to Work list

WINDERMERE-based business consultancy Impact International took the number one spot as the UK’s Best Workplace for 2013 (medium category) by the Great Places to Work® Institute.
David Williams, Impact’s founder and chief executive said: “At Impact, we believe that everyone has some capacity for leadership action, with our core aim being to encourage every individual in the business to reach their full potential so that the business can perform to its very best.
“Winning this Best Workplace award is a fantastic testament to the team’s hard work in ensuring that we create the right environment in which we can work together to do the best work for our clients.”
Meanwhile, Manchester-based web hosting company UKFast was named fifth in the‘medium’ list for 2013.
Chief executive Lawrence Jones said: “We are delighted to see our people focus rewarded with a place in this list once again and it is a real nod to the whole team and the wonderful working atmosphere that they create. In typical UKFast fashion, we’re always striving to be the best and we have already got the ball rolling on improvements we can make over the next 12 months.”
The Great Place to Work institute is a global organisation which benchmarks leading organisations across 46 countries.
Companies were judged against a rigorous criterion and had to demonstrate that they have developed a culture of trust with their employees and championed excellence in their people management practices.
