Director of the Year shortlist unveiled

THE finalists for the 10th annual IoD North West Director of the Year awards have been announced.
Among those nominated are directors from companies including UKFast, Ainscough Crane Hire, Accrol Papers and North West Air Ambulance.
The winners will be announced at a dinner held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester, on Thursday, September 26.
Darrell Matthews, regional director of IoD North West, said: “The quality of entries this year was particularly striking and this is reflected in the final nominees. There is a great spread of talent from some of the region’s leading businesses and public sector organisations.
“Our awards are different to many because they celebrate the people behind fantastic businesses. These are the people who take bold decisions to drive growth, and so it is important that we highlight their achievements.”
Among the winners at last year’s event were John McGuire of retailer N Brown, Ian Brown of wallpaper manufacturer Graham & Brown and Graham Keegan of engineering solutions firm Costain. This year’s event is sponsored by law firm Weightmans.
