Lettings latest: Orbit Developments; Hurstwood; Merchants House

TELECOMS group Unicom has agreed a five-year lease with Orbit Developments at Barlow House, Minshull Street in Manchester.

It is moving from another Orbit property in Mosley Street to a 5,627 sq ft office at the building.

It follows the firm’s move into the electricity market in a partnership with SSE which has led to the creation of 40 jobs.

Chris Earle, Unicom’s chief executive, said: “We are looking forward to the move to Barlow House. We were impressed with the office space available and its central location. It’s a great base to continue to grow our business from.”

HURSTWOOD tenant 10Motives has expanded with a new letting at Edwin Foden Business Centre in Sandbach.

The firm has now moved to the combined suite one and two, agreeing a three-year deal on the 2,800 sq ft office.

The company, which produces electronic cigarettes, has been a Hurstwood tenant for more than four years. It previously occupied Suite 15 and Suite 20.

Director Tony Jones said: “Our first office was less than 500 sq ft and served us well for the first couple of years, but then the business exploded and we were knocking on Hurstwood’s door looking for more space.”

Edwin Foden Business Centre is on Moss Lane, close to the centre of Sandbach. The business centre was acquired by Hurstwood in 2007 and has since been extensively refurbished.

PICTON, the property investment company, has signed two new occupiers at Merchants House in Chester.

Korus Recruitment Group and Web Media 360 have taken three suites totalling 3,600 sq ft in the newly refurbished office building located in Chester city centre.
