David Grundy invests in murals start-up Omega Sky

AN innovative Lancashire start-up business which runs a website selling  wall murals and wallpaper featuring iconic film and TV scenes, has raised a six-figure sum from private investors including former Grant Thornton North West managing partner David Grundy

Omega Sky, which trades as wallsauce.com, is seeking to roll out its e-commerce business to a worldwide audience. It has signed licenses with major studios such as CBS and Warner Brothers, which will allow customers to decorate their homes with scenes from films such as Batman, Star Trek, The Lord of the Rings and even Scooby Doo.

The funding will allow Omega Sky, which was founded last year by Colin Watson, Tony Fairhurst and Andy Gerraty, to sign more licenses in new territories and also boost its marketing spend.

Wallsauce.com provides custom-sized wall murals and bespoke wallpaper to UK & overseas customers, using stunning photography, designer images, fine art and a unique “create your own” function allowing customers to drag and drop characters into a large range of background scenes.

The business has also developed an “Avatar Grabber” function enabling customers to incorporate characters created in partner social gaming platforms, into their own totally bespoke wall mural.

Commenting on his investment Mr Grundy said “Omega Sky has developed adavid grundy, grant thornton unique offering to the consumer, allowing visually stunning branded and bespoke wall coverings. The fundraising will allow the business to broaden its licensed offering and rapidly expand its revenue base.
