TLT sets sight on NW in fresh growth phase

AMBITIOUS Bristol-headquartered law firm TLT has become the latest national practice to open a Manchester office.

It has lured two former DLA Piper partners, IP specilaist Graeme Orchisons and Stuart Campbell, a commercial lawyer, and Emma Flower, previously with Pinsent Masons, as a partner.

The Manchester office is based at 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields and currently has eight staff. TLT says it expects this number to grow to between 20 and 30 and generate income of £3m-£5mwithin its first 18 months.

TLT managing partner David Pester says, “We already service a national client base from our existing offices in Bristol, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast but a number of our major financial services and retail clients who are based in the North of England have said they want us to have a physical presence near to them.

“As one of the largest legal centres outside of London with a significant pool of very high quality talent available, and with strong transport links to our other offices in Bristol, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast, a presence in Manchester makes commercial sense and supports TLT’s business strategy.

“There’s been huge change in the legal market in Manchester and with change comes opportunity. We see this as an ideal time to secure first rate talent to deepen our expertise and strengthen our national service lines.”

TLT recently announced 10% increase turnover from £44.5m in 2011/2 to £49m for 2012/13.
