A-Plant invests in new dumper trucks
EQUIPMENT and tool hire specialist A-Plant has invested more than £1.5m in 100 new dumper trucks.
The Warrington company, part of the listed Ashtead Group, is part of a £30m programme of investment – including a £27m order for 800 machines from JCB.
The new dumpers have been made by Thwaites, a manufacturer based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
They have already been delivered across many of A-Plant’s service centres and are in action on sites across the country. This order is split evenly between four variants – one, three, six and nine tonnes machines.
Andrew Winlow, director of purchasing and fleet management at A-Plant said: “We have in excess of 2,000 dumpers in our fleet ranging from 1 tonne to 10 tonnes.
“We continue to invest in new equipment because we want to offer our customers an extensive range of high quality, reliable equipment. Thwaites has the widest range of four wheel drive site dumpers which are renowned throughout the industry for high performance levels, durability and low operating costs”.
