Appointments: Gordon to lead Moore and Smalley; Stowe Family Law & more

NORTH West accountants  Moore and Smalley appointed Graham Gordon as its new managing partner.

Mr Gordon,  head of the firm’s financial planning and wealth management team, succeeds David Ingram, who has held the position since 2008.

During that time, the firm, which has more than 200 staff in Preston, Blackpool, Kendal, Lancaster and East Midlands, has increased its fee income from £8m to £11m.

Mr Gordon, 45, who has been a partner since 2000, will begin his new role in October and head the firm’s management team, with Mr Ingram returning to a full time client advisory role.

A further change to Moore and Smalley’s management team sees partner Christine Wilson take up the role of finance partner, working alongside Adrienne Collinge, James Treadwell and Danny Houghton, who direct HR, IT and business development policy, respectively.

Mr Gordon said: “Under David’s leadership, the firm has grown into new territories, launched new services and continued the great Moore and Smalley tradition of putting the client and our people at the heart of everything we do.

“I am proud to be given the opportunity to continue this great work and my first priority is to make sure every member of this firm has an opportunity to contribute to the vision for Moore and Smalley.”

STOWE Family Law has appointed Anthony Jones as a senior solicitor at its office in Altrincham.

Mr Jones has 13 years experience of family law, including divorce, matrimonial finance, cases involving children, cohabiting couples’ rights and prenuptial agreements.

He said: “I am thrilled to become the newest member of the team at Stowe Family Law, which already benefits from a top-notch reputation locally – and nationally. My new role at provides a fantastic opportunity for me to draw upon all my skills and experience, as well as grow with the firm.”

MARK  Asquith has been appointed head of marketing and communications at business networking and lobby group Downtown in Business.

Mr Asquith, joins Downtown, which has networking clubs in Liverpool, Lancashire, Leeds and Manchester,  from Liverpool-based Epic New Media.

He said: “This is a really exciting time to be joining the organisation, with membership at an all-time high and a whole suite of new and revamped marketing tools in the pipeline. ”
