Appointments: Coutts boosts team; Balfour ABI & more

PRIVATE bank Coutts has strengthened its Manchester team with a number of new hires, including Mark Esner, executive director, wealth manager.
Reporting to director Paul Summerell Mr Esner will focus on delivering service and financial advice to a portfolio of high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals.
Mark has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Since starting his career in the tax division of Arthur Andersen, Mark moved into investment advisory roles with Quilter and Deloitte before joining Barclays Wealth in 2004.
Separately, Barry Grieve, Paul Spann and Simeon Livesey recently joined Coutts in Manchester as director, associate director and associate, respectively.
Paul Summerell said: ““These appointments complement the current team and are part of a series of strategic hires within the region. We are confident they will further enable us to meet the increasing demand of Coutts wealth management and private banking services in the North West.”

CHESHIRE OAKS based Barbour ABI, a data provider to the construction sector, has bolstered its business support offering with the appointment of economist Michael Dall.
Mr Dall joins the construction intelligence specialist, which is part of UBM plc, from GVA, the commercial property consultancy.
Barbour ABI is celebrating two major contract wins – one of which is to supply he Office of National Statistics with construction new orders data.
Simon Mahoney, group director at Barbour ABI, comments: “The appointment of a dedicated economist is a major boost to the service we offer our customers and the wider industry. Gathering and researching construction project information is our area of expertise and Michael will now offer another layer of value.”

INDEPENDENT Whitefield-based IT hardware distributor, Gamma Global, has strengthened its board with the appointment of three new directors.
Gamma’s head of Value Added Distribution (VAD) business, Andy Kelly, is has been promoted to sales director , while Simon Greenhalgh has joined as the firm’s new financial director and Mark Gilbert has been promoted to operations director.
Gamma’s managing director, Martin Smith, said: “These new additions to our senior team will give the business an injection of energy and a welcome new approach, adding increased pace and professionalism to the business.”
Existing board members, Mark Winter and Mike Cookson continue as commercial director and IT director respectively.

LANCASHIRE cabling provider Concordia Technologies appointed two area sales managers to support its sales team.
Steve Bromley, from Blackburn, has rejoined the company and takes up the position of area sales manager for the North West, while Dan Summers, will cover the Midlands and central Wales.
