Royal London secures 30,000 sq ft Warrington let

BILLING and customer management company MDS, together with its sister company Lavastorm Analytics, has agreed a 10-year lease on a 30,000 sq ft building at Birchwood in Warrington.

It will move 225 staff from sites at Cinnamon Park in the town to The Point which will be its new regional headquarters.

Chief financial officer Dave Thomas said: “The move to larger premises will allow us to better facilitate our employees. Doubling the square footage reflects a significant investment by our business, and demonstrates our long term commitments to staff and customers. The increase in space will support great expansion and future growth.

“Everyone at MDS and Lavastorm is excited about the move and we’re pleased to be staying in the area, which means that our staff are happy their commute to the office hasn’t changed significantly.”

The building is owned by Royal London Asset Management which has just completed a full refurb. Royal London’s Phil Owen said: “The fact we have secured such a major letting, only three months after completing the refurbishment works, is a testament to both the quality of the space and competitive terms we were able to offer”.

MDS, founded in 1988 by chairman Martin Dawes, was advised by Canning O’Neill and Eversheds. Royal London was advised by BE Group, CBRE and Hill Dickinson. The move is scheduled for early October.
