Appointments: Ex-Halliwells pair join DWF; Quiligotti builds new presence at Vinden and more

FORMER Halliwells partners Stephen Morris and James Lappin have joined the Manchester office of law firm DWF. The pair are two of six new starters in the firm’s commercial litigation, which has now doubled in size to 12.

Graham Dagnall, DWF’s national head of litigation said: “These appointments are a real boost to the existing team, which has a strong track record.

It is our aim to become a top-tier firm for the provision of litigation services and this move takes a large strategic step in that direction.

The Vinden Partnership has appointed Bruno Quiligotti as a senior consultant in its corporate solutions division.

Mr Quiligotti, a former founder and managing director of Bosco Construction until September 2003, has more than 25 years’ of industry experience and will be working alongside the corporate recovery team based at Vinden’s Bolton headquarters.

Land Securities has announced the appointment of Ian Ward in a newly-created role of centre director for both St John’s and Clayton Square shopping centres in Liverpool.

Mr Ward had previously worked for Marks  & Spencer and Safeway befure joining Land Securities team two years ago, where he has spent his time running running the Stratford centre in East London which attracts more than 21 million visitors a year.

During his time, the centre went through a major operational transformation to turn the shopping mall around.

He will now ooversee a major refurbishment at St John’s in a bid to create a better customer environment for retailers in both St John’s and Clayton Square.

“I was born and bred in the North West so it’s great to be home,” said Mr Ward. “Retail is a fascinating environment to work in – the current climate makes the challenges more demanding but that’s what keeps things interesting.

“Both St John’s and Clayton Square enjoy the experience of highly qualified teams headed by centre managers Iain MacGillivray and Ian Strettle, so I’m very much looking forward to working alongside them to ensure we deliver the best environment for shoppers to shop and retailers to trade. ”

CB Richard Eilis has appointed Stephen Barnes as associate director to the building consultancy team based at its Manchester office. Barnes joins following a ten-ear spell at Savills. Prior to that, he started his career at DTZ.

“Stephen’s appointment is part of a wider strategy to further strengthen the North West building consultancy team, and increase CB Richard Ellis’ market share in the region.”
