New MD at Freemont Construction

THE Freemont Group has appointed Martin Wood at the helm of its newly-launched construction company.

The Salford-based sub contractor, which specialises in the fit-out of hospitals, offices and commercial buildings, has launched Freemont Construction to focus on projects worth between £100,000 and £5m. It has already won its first contract to build a visitor centre in Bury.

Martin, who has built up a respected reputation in the industry after holding senior positions at Laing and Bovis Lend Lease, joins Freemont Construction from HBG UK.

He says: “We are committed to building Freemont Construction into a successful main contractor, and are convinced our offering stands out in the market place and challenges staid conventions.”

The Freedom Group was founded eight years ago. It has a turnover of around £8m and employs 100 people.
