New name for Walsh Simmons
MANCHESTER-based design and digital agency Walsh Simmons has re-launched and re-branded itself as Cuckoo Design.
The re-naming follows a recent management buyout (MBO) by Justine Wright who is now the sole owner of the agency. It is Ms Wright’s second MBO in the last three years.
Despite the economic downturn Cuckoo Design is celebrating its most successful year to date following significant business expansion and recruitment. Ms Wright said that it was the agency’s success that had spurred her into changing the name.
She said: “Having established a core team who are loyal, hardworking and amazingly talented, we had the platform and self belief in place for significant business growth.
“We fostered an honest, realistic and hardworking approach with existing and potential clients and coupled with the creativity we can deliver, we engaged 10 new account wins in less than 12 months – an enviable position to be in and another perfect reason to celebrate and make a new start under Cuckoo Design.”
The consultancy, which will remain at its Chapel Street offices, believes that its company ethos of keeping processes simple, meeting briefs with enthusiasm and effective execution are the drivers behind its account wins.
Walsh Simmons was established two decades ago by Steve Walsh. Ms Wright joined in 1995 and took full ownership last year.
Cuckoo was recently commissioned by Harvest Housing to produce a film for its £2m award-winning initiative Routes 2 Work, which aims to tackle unemployment, social and economic exclusion in West Cumbria.
