RRG invests in Bury Kia dealership

RRG Group, the North West car dealership chain, has expanded its used Kia showroom in Bury as part of a £1m investment.

RRG, based in Salford, is owned by Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and sells Toyota, Lexus, Peugeot, Mazda, Kia and Suzuki cars at 20 franchised garages across the region.

Earlier this year it bought the site of the Derby Arms pub on Bolton Road to allow for the extension.

Joint managing director Tony Cliff said: “Our relationship with Bury goes back over 35 years and we are committed to our ongoing investment into this important part of RRG’s history.

“In total we now employ over 200 people in Bury and have invested over £1m to ensure we continue to provide our trademark quality and expertise for our customers in the area.”

RRG opened its first Bury dealership in 1978 when it bought the Elton Garage and turned it into a Toyota dealership and petrol station. In 1993 the Toyota franchise was transferred from RRG Elton to a dealership 100 yards away which became RRG Toyota Bury on Bolton Street, which is still one of RRG’s flagship sites. The Elton site then re-opened with RRG’s Peugeot franchise in 1993. It opened Kia Bury in 2010 and Nissan Bury in December 2012.
