San Carlo goes for new Manchester ‘double’
POPULAR independent restaurant operator San Carlo Group is to further expand operations in Manchester, with two new concepts in Selfridges department store.
The Italian restaurant business, which already has 11 UK restaurants, including its flagship San Carlo and San Carlo Cicchetti on Manchester’s King Street West, is opening the new venues over the next couple of months.
Opening at the end of October, San Carlo Bottega restaurant, champagne and cocktail bar will be located on the second floor of the retailer’s Exchange Square store.
Similar to its Cicchetti restaurants in Manchester and London, San Carlo Bottega will serve small plate dishes, this time, influenced by Italy and Southern France.
The second new format will open in November. It is called Pharmacia Del Dolce, a patisserie, ice cream parlour and café and will be located on the lower ground floor.
It will focus on freshly baked cakes, pastries and a range of its own luxury gelato; diners will be able to eat in or take their sweet treats away.
