Corprotex set for record year

SURGING sales, including an order for staff at one of the region’s premier sporting venues, has put a corporate clothing provider on track for a record year.

Manchester-based Corprotex Apparel has had a 45% increase in turnover this year to £1.95m, and after winning another order from a financial services client, expects sales to top £2m in the next financial year.

Among the recent successes by the Ardwick firm was a contract to supply uniforms to Lancashire County Cricket Club, delivered in time for the Third Investec Ashes Test match.

Lancashire  awarded the contract to Corprotex in December 2012 to provide uniforms to all 200 staff working at the club including reception, housekeeping, maintenance, event and management teams.

Corportex managing director Paul Smith said:  “This was a very exciting project to work on given all the hype in Manchester surrounding the Ashes and the fact the world would be watching.

“We worked to tight deadlines, but we planned well and were able to deliver on time to 200 members of staff. The team here was very proud to be part of this huge sporting event.”

Lancashire chief executive Daniel Gidney said:  “Corprotex has supplied the club for around 12 years and it worked hard to help us achieve our goals and our staff are delighted with the new look.”

Corprotex was founded in 1993. Customers include Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank, Skipton Building Society, travel group Kuoni, Manchester Arndale and Manchester United.
