JJB finance director to step down

LAWRENCE Coppock, finance director of JJB Sports,is planning to leave his role in the next 12 months, the company has announced.
Turnaround specialist Mr Coppock, 58, who joined the board in May last year, has not set a date for his departure, but a search for his successor is now under way.
His family home is n Southampton and has been commuting to the North West for the last year.
The Wigan company said that having helped save the company “from the brink of insolvency” and stabilising its financial position, his job has been “substantially completed” and now is the right time to hand over to “finance director who can grow with the company over time.”
A statement said: “He will work with the company’s CEO, Keith Jones, and the rest of the board, to find a suitable successor and will continue to be fully engaged in the business during this time.”
