Carragher’s Liverpool bars close

JAMIE Carragher’s leisure business, which operated two bars in Liverpool, has gone into liquidation.
The former Liverpool FC player’s Cafe Sports England (Liverpool) business was behind a venue of the same name in Stanley Street and Moments in Liverpool One.
The bars employed around 40 people and ceased trading at the end of September. The business went into voluntary liquidation on October 17.
A statement of affairs shows total debts at the business are £1.2m. Mr Carragher was left out of pocket by £102,000 but around £840,000 is owed to the Flanagan Group which was a partner in the venture through its City Life Projects subsidiary.
The liquidator is Liverpool-based Parkin S Booth.
