Alexander Mann changes hands in £260m deal

GLOBAL recruitment firm Alexander Mann Solutions, which has a base in Warrington, has been acquired by a New York venture capital group in a £260m deal.

It has been sold to New Mountain Capital by the London-based Graphite Capital which backed a £100m management buyout six years ago.

A short time afterwards it supported the acquisition of Capital Consulting another recruitment firm that specialises in handling the process for corporate clients.

AMS, which is listed in London, has a North West office at Birchwood Park near Warrington. The group has a roster of around 65 corporate clients including Rolls-Royce, Deloitte, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Freshfields, Microsoft, Vodafone, BAE Systems and Novartis.

Graphite said AMS’ net fee income had doubled to nearly £100m under its ownership, with staff numbers growing from 900 to 2,000.
