Appointments: Cygnet; Aztec, The Eword & more

FAMILY-owned Cheshire engineering company Cygnet Group has boosted its senior team with the appointment of heads of operations and finance.
Stuart Parker, former group operations manager at Burnley-based chemicals manufacturer Wykamol Group, joins Cygnet as head of operations, while Julie Trimble, who was previously chief financial officer at Warrington chemical manufacturer INEOS Silicas Group, has been appointed head of finance at Cygnet working alongside group finance director Bren Hutchinson who joined the company from Peel Ports Group in July.
Cygnet managing director Matthew Kimpton-Smith said: “Stuart and Julie’s appointments are central to our plans to develop our strategic infrastructure and take full advantage of growing demand for our proven IP in the markets we serve around the world.”

LIVERPOOL construction company Aztec has appointed experienced property and finance professional Debbie Thompson as non-executive commercial director.
She is managing director of DT Commercial Consultancy and previously worked in the banking industry for almost 30 years as a senior commercial manager at HSBC, then head of Merseyside Business Centre for Alliance & Leicester. She later became head of commercial for St Helens Rugby League Club before launching her own consultancy two years ago.
Commenting on her role she said: ““Aztec is a growing company with an extremely positive outlook and excellent reputation. My experience in business development and commercial expansion sits well with Aztec, and I am very much looking forward to playing a role in continuing to take the company forward.”

RECENT hires at Manchester digital agency TheEword has taken staffing numbers to 30.
Newcomes at the Trafford Park-based company include senior SEO executive, Carla Fazakerley, and senior PPC executive, Eugene Henry.

CHESHIRE care provider SureCare has appointed Tracy Newcombe from Bolton as business development manager.
With 20 years’ experience in the sector, she will be responsible for helping existing SureCare franchises and branches grow and working with new franchises as they launch in the North.
Chester-based SureCare currently has 27 franchises and three branches, but plans to increase the number of franchises to more than 50 within two years.
Managing director Gary Farrer said: “Tracy is highly experienced in the care sector having worked with the NHS, Social Services and the private sector. SureCare has exciting plans to help our existing franchisees grow their businesses while, at the same time, recruiting the next wave of franchises keen to offer our community of care services.”
