LSH to review Wirral Council’s property estate

THE public sector team at commercial property agent Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been hired by Wirral Council to review its estate and identify possible disposals.

Under the terms of the three-eyar contract LSH will review the council’s surplus assets and identifying options for their future use.

Wirral’s decision to review its property assets is part of a wider shake-up which will see it sell assets to support frontline services.

Richard Platt, head of public sector at LSH in the North, said: “We are delighted to be working with Wirral Borough Council, assisting with the rationalisation of its property assets. In challenging economic times for the public sector, local authorities must be innovative in their approach to cost reduction, and the council’s current transformation programme is a good example of this.”

David Armstrong, assistant chief executive at Wirral, said: “Providing quality services for our constituents is the council’s highest priority, and our upcoming work with LSH promises to make some valuable improvements in the area. We look forward to working in partnership with LSH and continuing to invest in the people of Wirral.”

LSH was appointed following a formal bidding process, using the Government Procurement Services (GPS) framework.
