Allied Infrastructure cleans up at Wigan awards

CIVIL engineering firm Allied Infrastructure Management picked up the Business of the Year prize at last week’s Wigan Business Awards.
The company, owned by the Jones family, was also named Family Business of the year.
Krempfast, which designs and manufactures sleeving products, was crowned Exporter of the Year and the team from Lowri Beck, who provide metering and data services, received the Something to Shout About award.
Emma Antrobus, Greater Manchester Chamber’s policy and campaigns manager for Wigan, said: “The judges were completely overwhelmed by the strength and variety of entries for this year’s Wigan Business Awards.
“The borough has a very diverse business community, representing all sectors, and we had an incredibly difficult job deciding who would be this year’s winners. Our congratulations go out to all the winners and shortlisted companies, and we would like to thank each business who entered. We wish them all continued success for the year ahead and hope to see many of them again at next year’s awards.”
This was the last time Miranda Barker of Allan Environmental will host the proceedings as she steps down from her post as Wigan President of the Chamber this month, after 10 years in the role. John Hughes of Hughes Bros. will take over. The main sponsors were NatWest, Tudor North West and Stephenson’s Solicitors.
