Far East launch for ambitious GJD Manufacturing

SECURITY products maker GJD Manufacturing is opening its first overseas office as it aims to develop a global reach.

The £4m-turnover Heywood company, which is looking to grow to £10m over the next few years, has launched Asia subsidiary GJD Asia Limited, which is based in Hong Kong.

Managing Director Mark Tibbenham said: “This is an extremely exciting time for GJD. We have been growing our export sales dramatically over the past five years and see the establishment of a significant presence in South East Asia as the next logical step in our long term plans to bring the range of products and services to the attention of the largest possible audience.” 

The new facility will serve China, Asia and Australasia.

GJD Manufacturing designs, manufactures and supplies professional external detector equipment as well as CCTV and lighting controllers used in the intruder surveillance industry.

Mr Tibbenham added: “It is vital that manufacturers react to market needs, there is no point designing something that we think the market wants. Developments must reflect the requirements of end users, installers and specifiers. We look forward to the challenge of collaborating with our customers in the region.”
