ONLINE betting business Betfred.com has appointed Playtech’s former commercial director Adele Lawton as head of online marketing.

Lawton, originally from Sunderland, has held a number of senior positions within the gaming sector over the course of the last 15 years.

Prior to joining Playtech, a London-based supplier of online gaming software, she spent three years as head of Jackpotjoy. She has also held roles with BSkyB, bet365 and Gala Coral.

VITA Ventures, the Wilmslow-based property developer behind Vita Student, has appointed Andrew Parker as director of projects.

Parker’s immediate role will be to oversee delivery of the company’s seven existing developments which are worth more than £100m and have more than 1,140 units, including a new build project in Manchester and six refurbishment projects across Exeter, Liverpool, Bristol and Southampton.

Parker will co-ordinate and manage all new projects, from inception through to completion, as the company implements a land acquisition strategy.

He was previously operations and procurement director at Ask Property Developments, the company behind the £80m First Street scheme in Manchester which is the location of one of Vita’s blocks.

Vita chief executive Trevor Moore said: “Andrew’s operational skill set and experience means he is ideally equipped to manage Vita’s multiple large scales schemes and help us meet our ambitious development targets. His appointment is just one piece of our ongoing plan to build a high quality development team with the ability to tackle a wide variety of projects.”

PROPERTY manager The Livingcity Group has appointed a new site manager to its residential estate management division.

Andrew Taylor has joined the business from Oxford-based Corporate Residential Management (CRM). At Livingcity he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of properties and staff within the group’s residential management portfolio.

Headquartered in Manchester, Livingcity has 30 head office staff and a further 100 who are either onsite or field based. As well as its property asset management division, the company also has a building surveying team and a cleaning and maintenance service.

Managing director Mark Gallimore said: “This year has been an exciting one for the firm and our focus has been on growing a strong and robust team to meet the demands of our clients and residents. The real estate management division is a core part of our business and Andrew is a great addition to it. He has some solid experience in the sector – along with a commercial outlook – which is already paying dividends to the firm.”

HAVAS PR UK has bolstered its Manchester team with two appointments.

Senior account manager Paul Hadfield has joined from leisure travel company TUI, where he was senior press officer for Thomson & First Choice. Prior to this he worked in the Manchester Airports Group (MAG) press office, where he handled the airport’s social media presence. His client portfolio will include Asda, Ideal Standard and Greggs.

Charlotte Cunningham also joins the agency as an account manager from Newcastle-based Karol Marketing where she managed a range of retail accounts for outdoor clients such as Kathmandu and Vango.

Managing director Brian Beech said: “The appointment of Paul and Charlotte will bolster what is already a strong and talented team and we’re delighted to have them on-board. The economic climate remains challenging, but with exciting new clients on board and new projects in the pipeline, we are confident of continued success.”

DEBT manager MoneyPlus Group has appointed Ellie McKinnon as director of insolvency operations.
 
She joins the Manchester company from consumer financial services business Fairpoint and has also worked at accountancy group Deloitte.
 
In her new role, she will work with individuals and businesses to provide debt advice to clients. MoneyPlus Group was backed by Palatine Private Equity, following a management buyout in 2011.
 
Chief executive Chris Davis said: “In light of the substantial increase in case load, I am delighted to welcome Ellie to the company. Ellie has a huge amount of experience in our sector and I am sure that she will greatly assist us in cementing our position as a leading provider of debt advice.”
