Leonard Cheshire seeks buyer for country house

AN 18TH CENTURY country house in Sandbach owned by disability charity Leonard Cheshire has been put on the market with an asking price of £500,000.

The property, known as the Hill,  also contains a connecting coach house building that is being sold for £150,000. It had been used by the charity for administration and care purposes and could be redeveloped either as a corporate HQ, general office space or as a residential property.

It was first built in 1733 with a central facade added in 1870 and comprises around 13,500 sq ft of space within grounds of 0.6 acres.

Sam Spencer of property agent Bruton Knowles, which is selling the property on behalf of the charity said that The Hill and the coach house could be sold separately or as a whole.

“There are a variety of redevelopment options for The Hill and, with a sensitive approach, the main house could easily be restored to its earlier 18th Century glory,” he said,

“The main house would make an excellent company HQ considering its proximity to the M6, Manchester and a railway station.”
