Plant Impact strengthens board

PLANT Impact has appointed two new non-executive directors and seen another step up to the role of chief operating officer.

The Preston-based business, which specialises in crop nutrition and health products, said today that William Thompson has taken the executive role of COO while  Paris-based former Du Pont executive David McNeilly and ex-AH Marks board director Edward Sharkey have joined the board as non-executive directors.

Mr McNeilly, 65, is a British and American citizen who spent 32 years with Du Pont, mianly in its agri-business,and worked in 26 countries across the world.

Mr Sharkey, 61, has spent his career in the agro-chemical industry and recently founded management consultancy business Ambechem.

Peter Blezard, chief executive of  Plant Impact said: “I am delighted to welcome both Edward and David to the board;  they bring  a  great  wealth  of experience to the Company. Their appointment will further strengthen the board and provide high level support and guidance as we continue to focus on growing and developing our businesses.”
