CHURCH Square Shopping Centre in St Helens has spent £60,000 upgrading its toilets.

The investment came six months after the centre was bought out of administration by LaSalle Investment Management for £27m.

The centre has 87 retail units totalling 332,346 sq ft a 317-space multi-storey car park. It is anchored by Boots and BhS with other key retailers including Topshop, River Island and JD Sports.

Centre manager Steven Brogan said “This complete refurbishment of the toilets is a significant investment in the centre, and one that I think shoppers and retailers alike will welcome.

“Although the St Mary’s Arcade toilet facilities have been decorated every couple of years, the last time they were completely refurbished was in 1991. We have spent around £60,000, ripping old the old equipment –  including the tiling, lighting and cubicles –  and replacing them with up to date facilities, similar to those in the Lagrange Arcade near the management suite.”
