New £1m distribution base for Linco Care

MANCHESTER sun cream manufacturer Linco Care has opened a new 25,000 sq ft warehouse at its base in Carrington.
The £1m facility has been built on the site of the group’s former manufacturing base which was destroyed by fire 10 years ago, wiping out £1.5m of stock.
The business, which sells Calypso sun cream and other personal care brands, now has 50 staff.
Senior accounts Ken Beck said: “Thanks to the hard work of the owners and staff, Linco Care is going from strength to strength. Our turnover has increased by 50% from 2003, and our exports to over 50 countries worldwide now account for £2m of turnover, we have several well-known brands including Calypso and Re-Gen Oil that are listed in most of the major British retailers, and we’ve been able to employ another 34 people from the local area [since 2003].
“The new warehouse is a symbol of Linco Care’s success and growth over the last ten years and with our brands, people and new warehouse now in place, we’re looking forward to a bumper next 10 years from our base in Carrington.”
The new building project was supported by guidance from Manufacturing Advisory Service.
