Board changes at Conviviality Retail

ROGER Pedder is stepping down as chairman of Conviviality Retail, the parent company of Bargain Booze, after eight years.

The Crewe-based firm has also appointed several non-executive directors.

David Adams, currently a non-exec, will replace Mr Pedder as chairman at the end of the month.

Two new non-execs, Martin Newman and Steve Wilson, will join the board at the same time.

Mr Newman is the chief executive of e-commerce consultancy Practicology and will chair Conviviality’s remuneration committee. Mr Wilson is the finance director of Birmingham-based floor coverings group Headlam and will chair the audit committee.

Chief executive Diana Hunter said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roger for his stewardship of the business over the past eight years and wish him all the best. I would also like to welcome both Martin and Steve to the board, who along with David as chairman will work with me to shape Conviviality for the future.”

Conviviality, which has more than 600 shops, raised £64m in a flotation on the Alternative Investment Market in July.
