Bespoke Healthcare buys Preston clinic

AN ambitious Lancashire health services businesses has bought a Preston clinic  – giving it operational premises for the first time.

Bespoke Healthcare, a £2m turnover enterprise, and an independent provider of diagnostic services to the NHS, has acquired Sandon House Clinic for an undisclosed fee.

Under the terms of the deal Preston-based Bespoke has secured the business together with an option to purchase the CQC-registered premises in Millennium City Park, which includes two state-of-the-art theatre suites, two treatment and consulting rooms and private recovery areas, as well as all equipment.

Sandon House Clinic currently operates as a cosmetic surgery company.  Founder Peter Paterson, has left the business but retained sites in Penwortham and Lancaster.

Bespoke’s plans for the site include enhancing the surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments to include both private and NHS offerings, plus a move into investigative, operational and further diagnostic services for NHS Foundation Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups and GPs around the North West.

Gwam Rajiah, managing director at Bespoke Healthcare Group, said: “Since the company first privately undertook complex diagnostic tests into the NHS in 2006 we have always delivered a reduction in healthcare costs while improving patient care.  Our own operational premises was the next logical step.

“With Sandon House Clinic we have the regional facilities and the expertise to deliver investigations, diagnostic services and operations which are tailored to the needs of the North West NHS community.”

In July last year the company revealed it had broken the £2m turnover for the first time for year-end to June 30, 2013.  It currently employs nine full-time people and has over 10 leading neurophysiology specialists working on a consultancy basis.

Bespoke Healthcare was advised on the acquisition by commercial law firm, Garricks Solicitors and Pierce Chartered Accountants.
