Salford Business awards open for entries

ENTRIES are open for the annual Salford Business Awards.

Businesses of all sizes and industries from the city are invited to enter one or more of the eight categories, which include awards for innovation, energy and environment, international trade, entrepreneurship and work in the community.

The closing date for entries to the awards, which are organised by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and The Business Group Salford, is February 28. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the AJ Bell Stadium, Salford,on June 5.

Ian Stewart, Mayor of Salford said: “I have made it a priority to support local businesses and to attract further inward investment from across Britain and around the world.

“I will always be committed to supporting businesses who choose to locate and start-up in Salford. They bring jobs and investment to the city and need to be celebrated through events like the Salford Business Awards.”

Paul Wainwright, chair of The Business Group Salford, added: “The Salford Business Awards is now well established as a permanent fixture in the North West events calendar and attracts businesses of all sizes from all sectors. Speaking as a member of the judging panel it is always inspiring to see the calibre of entrants and a challenge to choose the winners. I look forward to an equally difficult decision this year.”
