Ryanair expands Manchester routes

LOW-cost carrier Ryanair has revealed further growth at Manchester Airport, with four new routes from March, raising the total to 36.
The Irish airline’s new routes are to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura & Gran Canaria. It is also increasing the frequency of flights on five existing destinations – Dublin, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife.
It believes the 46 new weekly flights will attract 2.1 million passengers a year, and support more than 2,000 jobs.
Spokesperson Maria Macken said: “Ryanair is pleased to deliver four new European routes to/from Manchester to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, as well as increased frequencies on five existing routes, which will deliver over 2.1m passengers per annum and sustain over 2,100 on-site jobs at Manchester Airport.”
Ryanair, has also launched a Groups & Corporate Travel service in order to targets the group and business travel markets this year.
The Dublin-based airline is moving its head and sales & marketing (Europe), Lesley Kane, to lead the new initiative.
