Maple Grove nets twin lettings ahead of Skipton opening

RETAILERS Pavers Shoes and Cotton Traders are the latest names to agree to take space at the new Albion Place retail development in Skipton, developed by Preston-based Maple Grove.

The two national retailers –  join Next, Cotswold Outdoor, Pizza Express, Otley-based Chevin Cycles, and Dawsons Department Stores at the 46,500 sq ft development.

The centre is now more than 95% let with Pizza Express already fitting out its unit, with the team behind the retail scheme confident it will be fully occupied when it opens at Easter.

Albion Place,  has been developed by Maple Grove Developments, the development division of Eric Wright Group. Sister company Eric Wright Construction is the main contractor on the scheme.

Graham Pilkington, senior development surveyor for Maple Grove Developments, said: “The development of Albion Place has gone to schedule and we are incredibly excited about its imminent completion and the contribution it will make to Skipton and the surrounding area as a modern retail destination.”

Albion Place will offer 330 car parking spaces and is expected to create more than 235 permanent jobs.

GVA, the commercial property consultancy, has provided strategic advice and support to Maple Grove Developments during the scheme’s development.

Retail and property specialist Bradys has acted as retail agent on Albion Place.

John Brady, partner at Manchester-based Bradys, said: “Albion Place is an extension to Skipton’s High Street, and satisfies the pent up demand for larger size retail units in close proximity to good customer car parking.
