Business incubator approved for Warrington

A 50,000 sq ft block for start-ups has been given the go-ahead by Warrington Borough Council.

The incubator, which is being developed by the council, will be one of the first buildings at the £190m Stadium Quarter project.

The 90-acre site was earmarked for office, leisure and residential uses in a masterplan published last year.

There will also be a university technical college (UTC) focusing on nuclear and energy engineering which was given the green light by the Government last month.

The start-up building has been designed by Liverpool-based Falconer Chester Hall Architects and will include office and research space to a range of new businesses.

Falconer Chester Hall’s managing director Adam Hall said: “This will be a prestige building within an important mixed-use development, and our choice of high quality stone and glass elevations, together with a double-height glazed entrance lobby to reflect this.”

The building will be built on the site of the former Dallam Day Centre on Dallam Lane near Warrington Central railway station.
