Chinese investor bags Lakes hotel

A LAKES hotel has been bought by a Chinese investor in a deal worth around £1m.

Don and Tracey Rogers, who are retiring, sold the 16-bed Keswick Park Hotel to Beijing-based Tong Zheng from an asking price of £995,000.

The venue has been closed for refurbishment and Mr Zheng plans to reopen in time for the Easter holidays.

Haydn Spedding of the hotels team at Colliers in Manchester sold the property. He said: “Mr Zheng is indicative of an increasing number of quality overseas buyers looking to acquire hotels such as Keswick Park as investor interest moves outwards from London to other popular destinations such as the Lake District and major cities including Manchester.”
