Auction News: Glossop Con Club sold; Northern Quarter office for sale

GLOSSOP’S Conservative Club was sold last week at Edward Mellor and Roger Hannah’s February auction.
The 8,000 sq ft grade II-listed building on Norfolk Street, which closed in July, went for £220,000 from a guide price of £250,000.
It has been sold by the Association of Conservative Clubs to an unnamed investor.
Property worth £2.5m was sold at the auction which included 33 commercial lots and 54 residential. Some 36 were sold or withdrawn prior to the event.

EDDISONS is offering 34 lots at its first North West sale of 2014, which takes place in Manchester on February 25.
These include a tenanted mixed use property on Prescot Road in Liverpool producing annual income of £10,938 with a guide price of £225,000.
Three tenanted retail units and two vacant self contained flats in Cheetham Hill, Manchester are also available, and a vacant former office building within the Northern Quarter area of Manchester city centre is being offered at £175,000.
Tony Webber, director and auctioneer at Eddisons said: “2013 was an excellent trading year in our auction rooms, where we produced over £60m worth of sales, with an average success rate of 81% out of the 1,016 lots offered. Further improvements in the economic climate means we can look forward to this year with real optimism.”
The Manchester sale takes place at The Premier Inn, Trafford Park at 12:30pm.
