International broadcasters line up for Musketeers

BBC Worldwide said it has sold its The Musketeers drama series to six overseas broadcasters ahead of its showcase in Liverpool this week.
It sold the 10-part drama to Germany, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine, Greece and Turkey prior to the exhibition which concludes at the Arena and Convention Centre tomorrow.
More than 700 delegates were expected at the three-day event which is billed as the world’s largest international television market hosted by a single distributor.
As well as The Musketeers, the BBC has been showcasing shows such as Top Gear, BBC Earth, Doctor Who, and Sherlock.
Paul Dempsey, president of global markets for BBC Worldwide, said: “We’ve had a phenomenal response to our 38th annual Showcase in Liverpool with many first time attendees including Google Play and DirecTV, making this flagship event for British TV exports the most global yet. We have a great slate of new titles across every genre and are delighted to be hosting some superb talent over the four days of the event.”
