Administrators appointed to Kirkbride Group

THE holding company of a Cheshire construction business has gone into administration.

Administrators at the Manchester office of Duff & Phelps have been appointed to Kirkbride Group (Cumbria) which has its registered office at Booths Park near Knutsford.

Duff & Phelps declined to discuss the details of the case but confirmed they were appointed following action by the floating charge holder who is non-executive director Deborah Cooper. She agreed a loan with the firm in April 2013.

The latest accounts show the business has total liabilities of £175,000. It owns Kirkbride Engineering Services, which is dormant, and Kirkbride Homes, which is still trading.

According to the company Twitter feed it was set up by Adam Kirkbride in 2010 to operate throughout the UK in house building and commercial property development.

The biggest shareholder is Paul Kirkbride, 49, who holds 81%. Deborah Cooper has a 9.5% stake.
