Appointments: NVM; SAS Daniels & more

NVM Private Equity (NVM) announces the appointment of Karl Cockwill to its investment team as portfolio manager.

He will help to manage NVM’s portfolio across the UK and will be based at the firm’s Manchester office.
 
Mr Cockwill joins from 3i where he worked for 11 years as portfolio manager responsible for the majority of its portfolio of smaller investments in the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Martin Green, managing director of NVM said: “Karl is an experienced portfolio manager with a particular focus on lower mid-market businesses and SMEs. He has been extremely successful at managing complex portfolios, with board level experience across a range of sectors. These skills, along with his high quality network of contacts within our industry, will help to create value for our portfolio companies.”

LAW firm SAS Daniels has appointed commercial litigator Nigel Hyder as a partner in its Stockport office.

Mr Hyder joins the firm’s 14-strong dispute resolution team from Kennedys having also previously worked for Manchester-based JMW Solicitors.

Chris MacCafferty, partner and head of SAS Daniels’ dispute resolution team said: “Nigel will have an important role to play in expanding our commercial disputes and professional negligence offerings and advising on complex property litigation cases.”

Mr Hyder added: “I look forward to introducing my clients and contacts to SAS Daniels and to advising the team’s growing commercial client base.”

SPECIALIST procurement, supply chain and logistics recruiter Cast UK, has boosted its team with five new appointments to its Manchester office.

It has re-hired former employee Dan Rowe as a senior logistics consultant  and added four graduates trainees Hannah Villa-March, Natalie Foster, Frances Upton and Genevieve Greensted.

SALFORD demolition and recycling business Anthony O’Connor & Sons has strengthened its contracts management team with the appointment of Nicola Hodges.

With almost 20 years’ experience Ms Hodges; role will involve sourcing new clients and  maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
