ITV to cut factual division in Manchester
ITV is to shut its factual division in Manchester.
The closure is part of moves to cut 1,000 jobs to deliver £40m of savings in its regional news services.
The broadcaster is proposing to merge its Manchester-based current affairs and features divisions and close the factual division in January 2009.
It is understood that around 26 jobs will be affected.
Last month ITV announced that 430 jobs would be cut from its regional news operation, taking job cuts for the year to around 1,000.
