Mainetti acquires Tetra Pak site

COAT hanger manufacturer Mainetti has acquired the 30-acre former Tetra Pak site on the Wrexham Industrial Estate for £3.5m.

The site, which has 270,000 sq ft of manufacturing and distribution facilities, will replace Mainetti’s facility at the Greenfield Business Park, Holywell, which was destroyed by fire last year.

The business, which has around 300 staff, has been operating from a temporary location at Kinmel Park, Flintshire.

Graham Wilson, production director at Mainetti, said: “We are delighted to have found a site that fully meets the needs of our business and helps to maintain jobs in North Wales where the company has operated for 31 years.”

Manchester-based property agent TFC Property acted for Mainetti while Legat Owen advised Tetra Pak which has moved to Chester Business Park.

TFC director, David Rowley, said: “After a comprehensive search across the North West and Yorkshire we identified the former Tetra Pak premises in Wrexham as the ideal option and an off market deal was negotiated with the vendors. Mainetti’s requirements were quite specific in terms of power supply and mix of warehousing and manufacturing and whilst completely different products the Tetra Pak factory fittted the bill.”
