Store manager invests in entertainment franchise

A CHESHIRE businessman is creating jobs in Crewe after buying an entertainment re-seller franchise.

To fund his new venture, Ben Sweeting has agreed a £100,000 Enterprise Finance Guarantee loan from Lloyds Bank.

Mr Sweeting has invested after working as a CeX (Complete Entertainment Exchange) store manager for six years.

CeX, which has 273 stores, buys, sells and exchanges a range of technology and entertainment products, including mobile phones, video games, CDs, DVDs and televisions.

Mr Sweeting said: “CeX offers a unique buying and selling experience to customers and I am passionate about the services that it provides. Having been a part of the business group for such a long time, I felt that I was ready to take the next step and open my own store.

“It was great to finally welcome people to the store. We have already seen a great response from customers in Crewe and I plan to open a second premises in the next six to twelve months elsewhere.”

Neil Smith, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “This new CeX store is great news for Crewe, creating new jobs and boosting the local economy. The store is in a great location in the town centre, which is a prime shopping destination within the local community.
