Strong line up for Cheshire export event revealed

EXPERTS from manufacturing, finance and business travel will be sharing their knowledge at UK Trade & Investment’s event in Crewe next week.

Speakers, at the event, entitled ‘Growing your business in Central and Eastern Europe’ include Antonio Parentes, European business development manager at Lancashire-based LED lighting firm acdc and Nigel Schofield, a board member of Cheshire and Warrington LEP and a director of Cresta World, the Altrincham travel company.

Peter Donnelley a partner at business advisers Baker Tilly and a representative from the banking sector will also be on hand to share their knowledge and answer questions from the audience at the free Export Week event at Crewe Hall on April 11.

Mark Armitage and Kester McMorris, experts at UK Trade and Investment will present insights into the opportunities for North West businesses in Central and Eastern Europe.

In 2013 North West exports to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria amounted to around £6.8bn. Exports to Eastern Europe were worth £391m.

There will also be information provided on  the support UKTI can provide to businesses looking to export. The government-funded body leads various export initiatives including support programmes for novice and experienced businesses and also organises trade missions during the year.

Clive Drinkwater, regional director at UKTI, will introduce the session which begins at 10am and runs to 1pm.
