Search starts for Manchester’s best building

GREATER Manchester Chamber of Commerce has started its annual search for the city’s best new building.
Building of the Year, now in its tenth year, celebrates new buildings that have made a “significant contribution to the city region in terms of its construction, design, sustainability credentials and economic and community benefits”.
The chamber’s Property and Construction Committee will judge and shortlist the entries before deciding upon the winner, which will be announced at an annual dinner in October.
Mike Gibson, chair of the chamber’s construction committee, said: “Over the years, we’ve seen some excellent examples of buildings epitomising the very best of construction and design in our region and we are looking forward to seeing which buildings are nominated this year.”
Last year’s Building of the Year was Number One Riverside in Rochdale. To nominate a building, complete the nomination form which can be downloaded here, or contact Matthew.Kershaw@gmchamber.co.uk
