Engenda completes £4.6m oil refinery job

RUNCORN engineering firm Engenda Group has completed a £4.6m oil refinery shutdown contract.

The business, set up in 2009 by Les O’Hare, specialises in outsourced engineering services to the power, chemicals and oil and gas sectors.

Its refinery and petrochemical turnaround division DTEC was hired for the job at the Preemraff oil refinery in Sweden.

The 12-week project involved more than 150 men and included the inspection and repair of more than 200 distillation columns used to process crude oil.

Operations director Steve Colclough said: “This major European contract was 10 months in the planning phase before the execution team flew to Sweden to actually do the job. It was a complex multi-column project and one of the largest DTEC has ever carried out. The work was completed during a planned shutdown of the refinery.”
